Here's another "bad idea" movie in the works.
Josh Gad is set to co-write and star in an upcoming movie adaptation of beloved TV series "Gilligan's Island."
The actor is teaming up with 1600 Penn's Benji Samit and Dan Hernandez to pen the script, and the children of the TV show's creator Sherwood Schwartz, Lloyd Schwartz and Ross Schwartz, will serve as executive producers.

I knew Sherwood Schwartz when I was at Paramount. We would say hello and chatted quite a bit, but I'd never been to his house or anything like that. (A real gentleman and nice guy. Funny too!) As odd as this might sound, I can imagine that he'd be behind/be OK with this. I don't think it would be because he'd think it would be better than his work, but because if it makes people laugh and kept people working it'd all be good in his eyes.
That said, the idea makes me sad on pretty much every level.
Do you think this will be a winner?
